the particles which i made

I made a steam particle for the train in ue4, the reason that I wanted to add it is that it will give life the environment. When I want trying the get the steam train to move in UE4 I was having trouble to for the particles to stay with the train and I didn’t know how to fix it so that why in the final video there is no particle, for the next project I would like to do more research and try the fix this as it overall improved the experience of the environment.

The environment which I used for the project

The youtube   link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3fHXuYmIEg&feature=youtu.be For the project I used and environment pact from the marketplace on ue4 as I was limited on time with the project and wanted a solid start for the project. The reason I picked a desert theme was that I wanted to have a unique backdrop for my environment.

UE4 setup for the Spline Mesh

Spline Mesh At first, I sated with using a spline mesh to control the steam train. it started alright but after I got deeper into the project I started to struggle with it and couldn't find any help online to resolve the problems. The main issues were getting the animation to work, I just didn’t have time to find a solution before the deadline so I reverted with an essayer solution which I used before. This was a sequence and I fond it to be a lot easier to get what I wanter but that when I was getting the to problems with the particles won't work so I put out of the project so I had some to hand in.

maya modeling

Throughout the project, I wanted to create a Steam Train from the 19th-century era. from the designs and the research, I knew what I wanted to design. I feel like I have improved a lot throughout the project and have developed the modelling. below is the final of the train With the issues of the animation and the modelling what very rushed at the end of the semester to get it all done. For the next project, I want to focus on the moulding and the texturing for the project then add movement in towards the end, this is because ill will have finished work.

Ovreveiw of the project and what i struggle with!

From start to finish the struggles that I faced. At first, I felt like I was achieving throughout the project, in terms of research and designs. This is because I have followed a similar method that I have used previously. I started on the 3D modelling of the train and was making really good progress - this was when we were still in Uni. I knew that I would have to make a start on the animation, as this the most challenging part of the project. This is because it is both the main reasoning behind this project (movement in an environment scene) and also because it can either make or break a design. However, once the animation process started, I felt lost in what I was doing, (this may have been due to my lack of knowledge in the area of animation). I felt like I was struggling on my own in this regard. Due to the unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19, my next issue was with communication. The limited chats through Microsoft Teams proved ineffective in helping me further due to the ver

Texturing

For the texturing I used substance painter, as I said in ‘Ovreveiw of the project and what I struggle with!’ blog. I was having a lot of problems of importing the animation into UE4 which took a lot of time out for my project. Finally, I found the solution to the problems and was working correctly but once I started to add the textures to the meshes another problem started, the modules in ue4 didn’t have the corrector textures allocated to meshes so I had to redo this again. After fixing the problem in Maya with the meshes having the right textures, I had the same issues first time round of importing them in ue4. I could add the mesh and the texture but there was no animation. I ran out of time in the project so I put the working animation as this the target for the project but that’s why the texture are just one strand colour.
